Grégory leads the Sur Écoute Quartet and has been a member of projects such as MB Quatre and Rhythm Perseverance. His music has been showcased at renowned festivals like Jazz à Vienne, Nancy Jazz Pulsations, Teignmouth Jazz Festival, and Jazz a la Calle Uruguay, and in iconic venues such as The Crescent Jazz Club, Abbaye de Neimenster, and Périscope Lyon. He has also held artist residencies at Détours de Babel and Abbaye de Neimenster.
A saxophone student since the age of 14, Grégory honed his craft with masters like Dave Binney, Steve Lehman, Tim Berne, Jim Black, and Guillaume Orti, and participated in Steve Coleman’s workshops at the Jazz Gallery in NYC. In 2013, he was selected for the prestigious Banff Workshop in Jazz and Creative Music directed by Vijay Iyer and received a grant for the Siena Jazz Workshop in 2017. His educational journey also includes studies with Loïc Mallié in composition and Prabhu Edouard in tablas.
Grégory has won multiple accolades, including the Rezzo Focal Jazz competition at Jazz à Vienne in 2011, and has performed or collaborated with artists such as François Raulin and Jim Black. As a bandleader, his Sur Écoute Quartet released the album “Muss es sein? Es muss sein!” in 2019, following successful tours across Latin America, Europe, and England. In 2020-2021, he co-directed an original creation merging music, dance, and theater inspired by the legendary samurai Miyamoto Musashi.
Beyond ensemble work, Grégory launched a solo project with six singles released and an album scheduled for 2024. He also performs in various projects, including MB Quatre, Giacomo, Antoine Galvani 6tet, “WWOMB Tentet,” Big Band Châlon Bourgogne, “The Delegation NYC,” and Anne Quillier 6tet.
As an educator, Grégory has taught jazz and saxophone for over a decade and holds a “Diplôme d’État” in jazz saxophone. He is endorsed by Rampone & Cazzani, Marca, and Syos.
